Welcome
I am a lifelong lover of words and stories. Reading stories and riding along on fantastic journeys with characters I fell in love with has been as important to me as breathing. In elementary school, I would discover new words in the dictionary and find ways to use them in daily conversation. In high school and college, courses on literature and composition were always my favorites. The rules of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure within the English language just hold a beautiful logic for me. But it wasn’t until becoming an ARC reader and chatting with the wonderful Aidy Award a few years ago that I realized I could turn the nerdy things I love so much into a career.
That email correspondence with Aidy and her willingness to give me a chance started Chrisandra’s Corrections. Since then, I’ve taken training courses in proofreading, copy editing, line editing, and developmental editing from Knowadays, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and Louise Harnby. I am currently working toward earning certification through the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
I have edited or proofread over two hundred manuscripts for my clients, always with the same goals: providing high-quality work at a fair price and ensuring that their readers hear their stories in the way they want them told. As an author, your voice and your stories are what hook readers and keep them coming back for more. It’s not my job to change your voice or make your story my story. I’m just here to make your writing shine.
Services
Developmental Editing
Includes two rounds of editing with multiple readthroughs. Editorial letter or report provided with first round; focus here is on plot, story arc, world building, characterization, and pacing. Some inline edits and suggestions will be included. Issues and suggestions for correction will be made. Second round of editing will be primarily inline revisions and prompts through comments. Additional notes will be provided for any components still needing revision.
Line Editing
Includes two readthroughs with revisions on a line by line basis. Suggestions will be made to improve flow and readability, to avoid repetition of words and phrases, to vary sentence length and structure, and to ensure clarity.
Copy Editing
Includes two readthroughs with in line suggestions made to correct inconsistent or incorrect spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Suggestions may be made to ensure language (both in narrative and dialogue) remains consistent for characters and the genre. Fact checking is also done.
Proofreading

Testimonials
Aidy Award/Amy Award
I love working with Chrisandra! She makes my editing life so much easier because I know she’s going to find my typos (and has even caught some continuity errors!). Plus, she doesn’t get mad when I just throw commas at the page like confetti – she just fixes them.
Etta Pierce
Chrisandra is my closest collaborator. She’s honest, supportive, highly ethical, and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have her in my corner. I particularly love that Chrisandra is consistent from manuscript to manuscript, keeping diligent notes on author preferences and learning their language.
Jade Dollston
I’ve been working with Chrisandra for over a year now, and she is absolutely amazing. She has done content, copy, and line editing for me, as well as proofreading.
I’ve found her accessible, professional, and very easy to work with. Her insights are astute and spot-on, and I feel like she really gets my work and does her best to listen and enhance my author’s voice.
But the best thing about her is her encouragement. I probably would have stopped writing by now if it weren’t for her. Chrisandra will tell you what she likes, rather than just suggesting the things that do not work, and that is invaluable to an author, especially when I was just starting out.
She has been an amazing guide in this journey of mine, and I’m so glad she’s a part of it. I look forward to working with her for years to come.

I’ve enjoyed working with Chrisandra. She’s very professional and one of my favorite things that she catches is continuity issues. I can always count on her to find my mistakes.
